IN MEMORY OF Stanley Van Dort

Cheer Cheer and Courage Display

"Birth, Death and the Resurrection" My feelings and thoughts on 19 April 2022 (His passing reminded me of another dear friend who passed away years ago. This time, 'Birth' is due to my 3rd grand child born recently, his sudden 'Death' and 'Resurrection' as he is a believer in Christ and we celebrated Easter recently too.)

Was shocked on Sunday 17 April 2022 to receive a phone call from an old friend from St.John's in Form 1, James Buxton, that our old friend and teacher had just passed away a couple of days ago!

It was shocking as just over 2 weeks ago, I had called our Sir, Stanley Van Dort, just to confirm what subject or class Mr Yeo Kok Seng had taught me in lower secondary school who had just passed away! It was night time when I called him and had a pleasant chat together to also find out that he was in KL. I knew where that was as James and I had visited him some years back before the Pandemic!

During the call, I thought about visiting him to suggest that maybe James and I or with some others too could visit him if it was okay with him. He said it would be fine and I replied I would get back to him after checking with James. I got busy within the next couple of weeks and before I could call James, he called me to inform me of the sad news! It was shocking to me and informed James that it was my plan to call him first.

To me, this coincidence is like many others in my life where it has spiritual meaning to me. In the past, I dreamt that my mother passed away a month before it happened! Then there was something that happened when I was with my wife who was in and out of hospital in Singapore for 7 years due to cancer.  One day at the hospital, when we hugged each other expressing love to one another in the corridor, a ray of sunlight just shone on us. It was at a narrow corridor with glass windows leading to the ladies room when I was prompted to hug and kiss her! I've never done something like that in public before!

To me, they are just spiritual events in my life where years before I got to know her, I've been recording my special experiences in my paper journals today shared online at www.SpiritLane.info

Rich memories from the past:
